Gyanendra Shahi's Call: All Parliamentary Officials, Including the Speaker of Koshi Province, Must Resign
Biratnagar. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Rastriya Prajatantra Party, or RPP) leader Gyanendra Shahi has demanded the resignation of all parliamentary officials, including the Speaker, in the Koshi Provincial Assembly, following the resignation of the party's Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Kanchan Biccha.
In a social media post, leader Shahi stated that if the RPP is indeed advocating for the dissolution of the Provincial Assembly, then the post of the Speaker, who holds a role in strengthening the Provincial Assembly, must be immediately vacated.
Shahi demanded, "Let's not show double standards," and "Let's treat everyone equally." His statement has created pressure on the RPP, which is currently campaigning for the dissolution of the Provincial Assembly, to immediately have its leaders holding crucial responsibilities within the assembly resign.
Following the resignation of RPP MPA Kanchan Biccha, leader Shahi's statement has further intensified the debate over the RPP's role in Koshi Province and the party's stance on the provincial structure.
