Gyanendra Shahi Slams Communication Minister Over Jumla’s Non-Functional Mobile Towers
KATHMANDU – RPP leader and Member of Parliament Gyanendra Shahi has expressed strong anger toward the Minister for Communication regarding the poor mobile network in the Karnali region.
In a recent social media post, Shahi pointed out that while mobile towers have been built in Jumla, they are useless because they do not provide any actual signal or network.
Shahi criticized the Minister for talking about "free Wi-Fi" while people in remote areas cannot even make a basic phone call. He stated that this is not just a problem in Jumla, but a common struggle for the entire Karnali province and other faraway regions. According to Shahi, no matter who becomes the leader, the government’s bad treatment of remote areas stays the same.
The lawmaker sent a clear message to the Communication Minister to stop making empty promises and "big talks." He demanded that the government focus on making the existing towers work so that the people can finally use the network. He urged the authorities to stop the talk and start the service immediately.
