Home Minister Labels Meeting with Lamichhane "Routine"
KATHMANDU. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has remarked that his meeting with party president Rabi Lamichhane was a natural and regular process. He made this brief statement to media representatives after visiting Lamichhane’s residence following controversies regarding shares in a micro-insurance company.
Home Minister Gurung visited Lamichhane’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Tuesday after allegations surfaced regarding his founding shares in a company invested in by controversial businessman Deepak Bhatt’s group, details of which were reportedly hidden.
He did not provide a substantial response to journalists' questions regarding the share controversy and demands for his resignation. However, he has previously issued a clarification via social media stating that the shares in question were acquired through a loan.
