Government’s Presence Praised During Disaster: Purna Basnet
Kathmandu – Purna Basnet, Head of the Publicity and Publication Department of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), has appreciated the government’s active presence and response during the disasters caused by heavy rainfall across the country.
According to Basnet, the government played a crucial role in timely dissemination of information, pre-disaster preparation, management, and emergency response efforts.
He stated, “During the disaster, efforts were made to use all state resources to protect citizens from risks. Government agencies were deployed for rescue and relief with high morale, and their work has been appreciated at the public level.”
He also emphasized the need for continued vigilance, as risks from floods, landslides, and inundation still persist.
Expressing sorrow over the damage to life and property caused by the heavy rains, Basnet appealed to the government, political parties, supporting organizations, and individuals to actively engage in search, rescue, relief, and restoration efforts.
