Gokul Baskota’s Critique on UML Party Structure

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota has admitted that while they were under the illusion of being popular among the people, they have actually only become favorites of the leaders.

Writing on social media regarding the House of Representatives election results, he commented on the decline of the party's organizational structure, satirically noting that a strong pyramid-like structure was turned into a funnel-shape out of a greed to add honorary stripes.

He wrote: "As soon as one is ready to look back at the flashbacks of the party's ups and downs nostalgically, re-vision, re-thinking, re-structuring, and renovation will happen naturally. It was a pyramid; we made it a funnel to add stripes. We said we were popular, but we only became dear to the leaders. If time doesn't correct us, we might become dinosaurs—what can we do? Don't worry!"
