Kathmandu. CPN-UML Secretary Gokarna Bista has stated that the General Convention representatives must be sovereign and responsible to make the General Convention successful.

Speaking during an interaction regarding the CPN-UML's 11th National General Convention, Bista said that it is necessary for the General Convention to review the party leadership, the role of the representatives, and the latest political situation of the country.

Emphasizing that the party representatives should be independent and sovereign, Bista said, 'To make the General Convention successful, it is essential to reorganize and enrich the party in a manner that addresses the issues raised by the representative friends, the aspirations of the cadres, and the expectations of the people.'

He mentioned that the General Convention must conduct a serious review of the political situation that arose in the country after Bhadra 23 and 24.

He stated that the main objective of the General Convention should be to amend some policy provisions passed by the Statute General Convention and make the party capable of addressing the expectations of the people and the aspirations of the younger generation in the changing context.

He said, 'We need to seriously review the situation that arose in the country after Bhadra 23 and 24. The General Convention should be successful in amending and enriching some of the policy aspects passed by the Statute General Convention, and in developing the party in a way that addresses the expectations of the people and the younger generation in the changed context.'
