Kulman Ghising Consults with Diaspora Nepalis Regarding Upcoming Elections

Kathmandu: Ujyalo Nepal Party Chairman Kulman Ghising held a discussion with Nepalis living abroad regarding the upcoming elections. During the Zoom meeting held on Sunday morning, Nepali diaspora members from the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan participated.

Chairman Ghising called upon Nepalis living abroad to request their relatives in Nepal to vote for Ujyalo Nepal’s election symbol, the "Bulb." He urged them to vote for a people-oriented and result-oriented party, stating that Ujyalo Nepal is the party capable of delivering results for Nepalis.

The diaspora members expressed concerns that the party merger with the Rastriya Swatantra Party had harmed the Ujyalo Nepal Party and advised against collaborating with such controversial parties in the future.

As the party has gained momentum within just two months of its establishment, participants suggested launching a Mechi-Mahakali campaign to build an alternative force and urged the leadership to remain honestly active. The meeting included professors and scholars from prestigious institutions like Harvard and MIT, as well as established entrepreneurs.

Participants stated they are always ready to help establish the party and support the Nepali land. They further advised the party not to take donations from controversial or corrupt individuals, even though elections require significant financial resources.

During the meeting, the Ujyalo Nepal Diaspora Committee UK was announced under the coordination of Bhagwan Shrestha, with Prajwal and Pushkal Shrestha among the members.

Following interest from other participants to include Nepalis living abroad, Ujyalo Nepal Party spokesperson Dr. Raju Thapa informed that preparations are underway to form diaspora committees in European countries and the US.

Dr. Bishnu Joshi in the US and LN Pandey in the UK coordinated the Zoom meeting with Ujyalo Nepal. Participants from the US included Dr. Bishnu Joshi, Dr. Ranjan Mishra, Dr. Sudip Pangeni, Prajal Dhakal, Professor Gopi Upreti, Kumar Singh Dangi, Govinda Neupane, and AP Lama Sherpa.

Similarly, Bhagirath Yogi, LN Pandey, Bhagwan Shrestha, Prajwal, and Pushkal Shrestha participated from the UK. From Japan, Ramesh Thapa attended, while Ujyalo Nepal was represented by Chairman Ghising, Dr. Raju Thapa, Dr. Mahendra Lawoti, Anup Upadhyay, and Kedar Khadka.
