Genese Solution Organizes Seminar on Digital Transformation

Kathmandu – Leaders from Nepal’s financial services sector gathered in Kathmandu to discuss the country’s journey toward digital modernization.
The seminar, organized by Genese Solution, a UK-headquartered IT consulting and cybersecurity company, brought together more than 100 CEOs, CISOs, CTOs, and government officials from Nepal’s leading banks, financial institutions, insurance, and capital markets.
Held under the theme “Secure the Shift: Driving Digital Transformation with Cloud Migration and Cyber Resilience for BFIs,” the event provided a platform for banking and financial sector leaders, technology experts, and regulators to discuss opportunities and challenges in digital transformation.
The Chief Guest of the program, Sushil Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board Nepal, highlighted the government’s ongoing implementation of the Digital Nepal Framework. He assured that the Investment Board is committed to facilitating foreign investment in Nepal’s ICT sector. Noting that Nepal’s banking sector is ahead of the government in digital innovation and practice, he emphasized how this progress has fostered public trust and transparency. He also stressed the need for infrastructure development and raising awareness at the grassroots level.
Gyawali cautioned that while the government is implementing the Digital Nepal Framework, Nepal risks falling behind if it cannot keep pace with global progress. He revealed that proposals for establishing IT parks in Nepal are underway and emphasized that Nepal, with its skilled human resources, clean energy, and strategic geography, has the potential to become an IT hub. He called for collaboration to create an enabling environment to attract global IT companies and generate employment in Nepal.
Anjani Phuyal, Chief Executive Officer of Genese Solution, remarked that adopting cloud technology is no longer just an option but a necessity for Nepal’s banking and financial institutions.
“Cyber resilience is a culture, not just a compliance checklist. For us, it is not merely a solution – digital growth itself has become the foundation of development,” he said.
The seminar featured sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focused on cloud migration, cyber resilience, customer engagement, and regulatory perspectives.
In his opening remarks, Bishnu Subedi, Vice President of Engineering at Genese Solution, welcomed the participants and explained the objectives of the event. Kailash Badu of Genese Solution delivered a presentation on customer communication in the Gen AI era, highlighting personalization and automation with use cases in Nepal’s banking and financial sector.
Genese’s Global CTO and Chief Information Security Officer, Niranjan Kunwar, along with Sampanna Shrestha, presented best practices on ISO 27001 and shared learnings for Nepal’s banks and financial institutions.
