"Gen-Z's Voice is the Spirit of the Peace Accord Itself" – Prachanda
On the occasion of the completion of 19 years since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party and a living signatory of the Peace Accord, has issued a message.
In the message, he stated that the full implementation of the peace process will not be possible until the issues of social justice, equality, good governance, and prosperity are fulfilled.
Prachanda paid tribute to the martyrs, disappeared, injured, and disabled combatants who made sacrifices during the People's War, and specifically remembered the then Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
He noted that the Peace Accord made a decisive contribution to the drafting of the democratic republican constitution, including federalism, inclusiveness, and secularism.
According to him, the voices for change currently being raised by the 'Gen-Z' generation are consistent with the soul of the Peace Accord itself.
He expressed the view that necessary modifications to the governance system and the constitution are required to address the aspirations of the youth.
Prachanda made a special appeal for all parties to unite to resolve contemporary problems and stated that his party is committed to completing the remaining tasks.
