Gen-Z’s Sacrifice and the Call for a New Order: Durga Prasai’s Appeal
Kathmandu — Social activist Durga Prasai has stated on Facebook that the sacrifice of Gen-Z cannot be betrayed. He questioned the constitution, parliament, the president, and the current system, asking, “If all of these are right, then why was the movement carried out?”
Prasai expressed concern over the killing of innocent children, the destruction of state property worth over 50 billion, and asked who will account for the tears and blood of Gen-Z’s families.
He said, “Yesterday, too, a new constitution was announced according to Western designs — the Hindu nation ended, the country became secular, and everyone collectively plundered the state.” Prasai recalled the contribution of King Prithvi Narayan Shah and the Nepali Army in unifying the country, emphasizing that today the responsibility to protect the nation falls once again on the Nepali Army.
He urged that both the president and the constitution should be suspended and the army should announce an interim government, warning that otherwise, the sacrifices and blood of previous generations would haunt the current generation, and a day may come when people cannot even live in their own country.
Prasai cited successful movements worldwide, stating, “No old constitution has ever been recognized; new systems have always been born through new constitutions.”
