Gen Z Movement Was Not to Change the 'System' But to Change the 'Situation': Mahesh Basnet

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet today stated that the Generation Z (Gen Z) movement was not focused on changing the 'system' but rather on changing the 'situation' of the country. He claimed that the genuine Gen Z youth had only three main demands.

According to Basnet, the demands of the original Gen Z protesters were:

Controlling Corruption

Ending Favoritism and Nepotism

Unbanning Social Media

Leader Basnet alleged that 'duplicate' groups infiltrated the movement midway, hijacked the original protest, and committed criminal acts such as burning public property and looting.

He claimed that 'international powers' like 'Black Energy' and 'Lucifer' aided these activities.

"Due to the country's luck, it was not completely ruined," Basnet said. "We are here to save our country from that very international power."

He further stated that the peaceful movement was turned towards violence in a terrorist style by a few reckless individuals and agents of international powers. Basnet stressed that protecting the country from this international conspiracy is today's necessity.
