Arjun Narsingh KC Demands Release of Gen Z Movement Report

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Arjun Narsingh KC has demanded the government to make public the investigation report on the Gen Z movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24.

Speaking at Monday's House of Representatives meeting, he stated that although the inquiry commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, formed to investigate the massacre and destruction during the Gen Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24, has already submitted its report, it has not yet been formally made public. He demanded that the report be made public and provided to all MPs.

He said, "The report of the inquiry commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, formed to investigate the massacre and destruction of Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082, has been submitted. However, that document has not yet been formally made public. Therefore, it should be made public and provided to all honorable members."

Similarly, he objected that the National Human Rights Commission's report, prepared under the coordination of Lily Thapa to investigate the violent incidents that occurred from Bhadra 23 to 26, has also been withheld. He said the parliament must be informed about why and in whose interest the report was stopped.

He said, "Why and in whose interest has the National Human Rights Commission's report, formed under the coordination of honorable Lily Thapa to investigate the violent incidents from Bhadra 23 to 26, been withheld? The parliament needs to get information on that too."

KC mentioned that on Bhadra 24, the Nepalese people were left stateless and insecure for about 12 hours, and maintained that the government must guarantee such incidents will not be repeated.
