Gen Z Movement Nepal Demands Immediate Action Against Home Minister Sudhan Gurung

Kathmandu: Gen Z Movement Nepal has drawn the government's attention, demanding immediate action regarding serious allegations raised against Home Minister Sudhan Gurung. In a press statement issued on Sunday, the organization called for Minister Gurung to be dismissed from his post, arrested, and for an impartial investigation to be initiated.

The statement mentioned that conducting an investigation while he remains in office would be impossible, noting that it clearly creates a conflict of interest. The organization stated that an impartial investigation cannot take place against someone holding the position of Minister, declaring this to be contrary to basic ethics and legal principles.

Furthermore, the statement addressed the government led by Balen Shah, noting that the formation of a cabinet should be treated as a serious political and ethical decision. Describing the trend of appointing and later removing ministers haphazardly as unacceptable, the organization emphasized that responsible leadership must demonstrate maturity, foresight, and accountability.

The organization mentioned that the current government represents a mandate obtained through the sacrifice of 76 martyrs, warning against practicing "cheap politics" over the sacrifices of the people. The statement also noted that no compromise regarding good governance, transparency, and accountability would be acceptable.

Gen Z Movement reiterated that the judicial process must be independent, impartial, and free from pressure, stating that anyone found guilty must face the law.
