Gen-Z Movement Alliance Members Hold Peaceful Sit-in in Janakpur

Members of the Gen-Z Movement Alliance held a peaceful sit-in in Janakpurdham. The demonstration was organized to pressure the government to release a report submitted by the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate the Gen-Z movement. Despite the report being handed over to the government, it has not yet been made public. On Tuesday, members gathered at Janak Chowk in Janakpurdham carrying placards and chanting slogans demanding the disclosure of the report.

Deepika Lama, the Dhanusha district representative of the Gen-Z Movement Alliance, stated that the mandate of the government formed after the Gen-Z movement included conducting an impartial investigation into the movement and bringing those responsible to justice.

She expressed that it is wrong for the government to withhold the report for such a long time. According to her, if the government fails to identify the perpetrators and bring them within the legal framework, the Gen-Z movement would lose its significance.

She further informed that peaceful sit-ins will continue across the country until the report is made public. The Gen-Z Movement Alliance has been consistently organizing demonstrations and sit-ins in Kathmandu and various major cities across the country, demanding the release of the Karki Commission's report.
