Gagan Thapa's Name Recommended from Tehrathum for Upcoming Federal Elections
Even as the name of General Secretary Gagan Thapa has been recommended from various districts for the upcoming House of Representatives election—besides Kathmandu 4—his name has now also been unanimously recommended as a sole candidate from Tehrathum.
According to District President Arjun Bahadur Tumbahamphe, General Secretary Thapa's name was unanimously recommended from Tehrathum.
President Tumbahamphe stated that discussions were held on whom to field as a candidate after the sanction against Constituent Assembly member Tulsi Subba was not revoked, and during this process, General Secretary Thapa's name was put forward.
Sita Gurung of the Congress party was elected from Tehrathum's single House of Representatives constituency in the 2079 election.
For the proportional representation system from Tehrathum, the names of seven individuals have been recommended: Krishna Man Tumbahamphe, Dilliram Nepal, Bijay Sambahangphe, Rudra Kandangwa, Basanti Subba Gurung, Sharada Koirala, and Sanisha Bhetwal.
General Secretary Thapa, who has been contesting elections from Kathmandu 4, has also been recommended from districts like Kathmandu, Rolpa, Dhankuta, and Sarlahi this time.
