Gagan Thapa Urges Unity to Face National Challenges
Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has called for unity to face national challenges. He stated this in a message issued while extending best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the New Year 2083. He mentioned that a firm determination from everyone is necessary for the protection and strengthening of the historical achievements gained through the sacrifice and struggle of the Nepali people.
In his message, Thapa said, "We must be united to face future challenges while protecting the achievements obtained through the long struggle of the Nepali people. This is an important moment to move forward firmly on the path of good governance and economic development by utilizing new opportunities."
He urged political parties and responsible bodies to rise above partisan interests to make the campaign for building a peaceful, civilized, and prosperous nation successful. He emphasized that there is no alternative to cooperation and unity for the benefit of the country, its citizens, and democracy.
Expressing belief that the New Year will further strengthen mutual unity, brotherhood, harmony, and cooperation among Nepalis, he also wished for inspiration to institutionally strengthen the federal democratic republic. At the end of the message, he said, "May this New Year provide new energy and enthusiasm to all of us to move toward economic, social, and cultural prosperity."
