Gagan Thapa Stresses Stability and Responsible Leadership
Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has stated that the country requires stability, restraint, and responsible leadership. Addressing a special election assembly of the Nepali Congress, Thapa expressed his commitment to running the country with wisdom over the next five years.
He said, "The Congress will now run the country with wisdom for these five years. Congress will not let another Bhadra 23 occur during this period. We will not allow a situation where any citizen is forced to die from a bullet."
Noting that the country is passing through a complex situation, he expressed the view that the language of hatred and provocation would not solve problems in such a state. "To handle this country, which is in such great difficulty, the language of hatred alone will not work, nor will the language of provocation," he said.
Commenting that Nepali politics is heading towards distortion, Thapa stated that the future of the country and political culture are more important than who wins or loses the election. "Nepali politics has become a major distortion. Who wins or who loses in the election is not the important matter," he clarified.
