Gagan Thapa Stresses Policy Intervention and Collaboration
Chitwan — Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa, in a Facebook post reflecting his address at an interaction program organized by the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of collaboration among the government, private sector, and communities.
He remarked that while Nepal has made significant progress in sectors such as telecommunications, banking, and energy following the adoption of an open economic policy after 1990 (2046 B.S.), the country has missed out on key opportunities due to the absence of long-term policies and stable leadership.
Thapa wrote, “The right policy interventions made today can compensate for the lost decade. For that, cooperation between the government, private sector, and communities, along with a clear vision and political will, is essential.”
He also highlighted the valuable suggestions received from representatives of 11 different business sectors in Chitwan and expressed his commitment to further action on those recommendations.
