Gagan Kumar Thapa Elected Unopposed as President of Nepali Congress
Kathmandu, January 15: Gagan Kumar Thapa has been elected unopposed as the President of the Nepali Congress.
The Central Election Committee Coordinator, Sitaram KC, informed that Thapa was elected unopposed to the party president’s post from the second special general convention of the special convention supporters currently underway in Kathmandu.
“Since there was only one candidacy for the post of President, that of Thapa, I declare him elected unopposed,” said Coordinator KC while announcing the election results.
After being elected President, Thapa addressed leaders, party cadres, and well-wishers present at the special general convention venue in Bhrikutimandap.
The Election Committee has stated that the results of the remaining elections will be announced later.
