Message from Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa on the Occasion of Holi

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, while expressing best wishes on the occasion of Fagu Purnima (Holi), has expressed his belief that unity, harmony, and reconciliation will be strengthened in Nepali society.

In a message of best wishes issued on Monday on the occasion of Holi, he mentioned that the diversity of Nepal's geography, castes, languages, religions, arts, and culture is the beautiful identity of the country. He described Fagu Purnima as an important festival that conveys the message of mutual love, harmony, and national unity.

"The diversity of all of Nepal's geography, castes, languages, religions, festivals, arts, cultures, traditions, and customs is Nepal's beautiful and unique identity. Among the various festivals of cultural and historical importance celebrated in Nepali society, Fagu Purnima (Holi) is a unique festival of mutual love and unity," the message stated.

He expressed his belief that Holi, celebrated on Falgun 18 in the Himalayan and Hilly regions and on Falgun 19 in the Terai region, will further strengthen social tolerance, family affection, and mutual reconciliation.

In the message of best wishes, he mentioned that the election of the members of the House of Representatives is approaching along with Fagu Purnima and urged all Nepali citizens to participate enthusiastically in the election to make the democratic exercise successful. He believes that institutionalizing democracy through a peaceful, dignified, and successful election will contribute to the building of a prosperous nation.

He said, "This time, along with Fagu Purnima, we are at the threshold of an important celebration of democratic practice: the election of the members of the House of Representatives. I believe that the election will be completed in a successful, peaceful, and dignified manner. I heartily appeal to all Nepali mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers to participate enthusiastically in the Falgun 21 election and cast their votes to institutionalize democracy and build a prosperous nation."

Wishing that this festival, which has arrived with the onset of the spring season, brings happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone's home and family, he expressed his best wishes once again.
