Former Prime Minister Prachanda Extends Greetings on the Occasion of Gunla Festival
Kathmandu, 25 July – On the auspicious occasion of Gunla Festival 2082 (Nepal Sambat 1145), former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has extended his heartfelt greetings to the entire Newar community and all Nepalis residing in Nepal and abroad.
In a message shared through social media, Prachanda highlighted that Gunla, a month symbolizing meditation, spiritual practice, cultural richness, and wisdom, has made a significant contribution in keeping Nepal’s diverse cultural identity alive.
He stated that festivals like Gunla serve as sources of inspiration for the preservation of community culture, promotion of local identity, and fostering of social harmony and unity. Such traditions, he noted, help us preserve our originality while moving toward the creation of a tolerant and inclusive society.
Concluding his message, Prachanda expressed his hope that this sacred festival will spread the message of peace, harmony, tolerance, and social awareness among all.
