Former King's Secretariat Removes the Word 'Former', Writes 'His Majesty' Again
Former King Gyanendra Shah and former Queen Komal Shah are set to visit the Janaki Temple. According to the former King's communication secretariat, the visit to the Janaki Temple by the former royal couple is scheduled for the 12th of Magh.
"His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and Her Majesty Queen Komal Rajya Lakshmi Devi Shah are scheduled to visit Janakpurdham and offer prayers at the Janaki Temple on the 12th of Magh," states the notice from the communication secretariat.
Previously, the communication secretariat had started addressing Gyanendra as 'Former His Majesty'. However, in the latest notice, the word 'Former' has been omitted, and he is directly referred to as 'His Majesty'.
Police had previously summoned officials from Gyanendra’s communication secretariat and cautioned them, stating that according to the Constitution of Nepal, no one currently holds the title of 'His Majesty'.
Following that, the secretariat had removed statements containing the title 'His Majesty' from social media, and some subsequent statements were issued addressing him as 'Former King'. However, the word 'Former' is missing from the most recent notice.
