Federalism in the context of Nepal is a 'donkey'- Rabindra Mishra
Kathmandu. A controversial statement made by Rabindra Mishra, the Senior Vice Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has created a stir in the political sphere by raising serious questions about the relevance of federalism in the context of Nepal. He compared federalism to a 'donkey'.
Mishra publicly shared his views via his social media platform, Facebook, attempting to illustrate the current state of federalism and its failure. He clearly wrote, "Federalism in the context of Nepal is a 'donkey'."
He argued that no matter how much care is given to this 'donkey,' it cannot be transformed into a horse. Mishra stated, "It will not become a 'horse' by feeding it, washing it, and caring for it."
Mishra, who advocates for the abolishment of federalism, further clarified his statement by saying that if the purpose is merely to deal in donkeys, then 'what is the fault of the poor donkey', placing the blame instead on the political leadership that lacks the vision and thought process to 'promote' federalism into a horse.
