Former President Bhandari Observes Damages to Federal Parliament Building
Kathmandu, December 11: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari visited and observed the Federal Parliament building which was damaged by arson and vandalism during the Gen Z protests.
Today, she arrived at the Parliament building complex in New Baneshwor and took stock of the damages caused by the vandalism and fire.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal informed former President Bhandari about the damage to the Parliament building.
Following the observation, former President Bhandari expressed her deep sorrow to the media personnel upon seeing the state of the Parliament—a place representing the people—damaged by arson and vandalism.
The Federal Parliament building was targeted during the Gen Z youth protest on September 8 (Bhadra 23), resulting in vandalism, and a fire broke out on September 9 (Bhadra 24).
