Father and Son From One Family, Two Different Political Parties

A rare and interesting scene has emerged in the political circles of Kalikot, where a father and son from the same family have been recommended as candidates from two different political parties.

Kalibahadur Sahakari, a leader who has been active in Nepali Congress politics for a long time, has been recommended for the House of Representatives under the proportional representation (PR) category. Meanwhile, his son, Dinesh Bogati, has been included in the preliminary PR list of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which is considered a new political force.

Sahakari, who has been involved in democratic movements for decades and is currently aligned with the Shekhar Koirala group, belongs to a family well-established in Congress politics. His brother, Min Bahadur Bogati, even serves as the district vice-president of the party.

Dinesh, who lived in the United States for the past 10 years, returned to Nepal recently and chose the path of alternative politics. This move highlights a shift in generations and shows a growing trend of ideological freedom and young people choosing their own paths over family political legacies.
