Jagarnath Das Appointed Executive Director of Melamchi Water Supply Committee

Kathmandu – Jagarnath Das has been appointed as the new Executive Director (ED) of the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee. The Ministry of Water Supply made the decision at the ministerial level, officially handing him the responsibility to lead the committee.
Prior to this, Das was serving as the Head of the Water Supply and Sewerage Management Office in Janakpur. According to the committee, he assumed office today as the new Executive Director.
Meanwhile, former Executive Director of the committee, Engineer Ratna Lamichhane, has been transferred to the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management as Deputy Director General. With his appointment, all three Deputy Director General positions in the restructured department have now been filled.
Director General of the Department, Engineer Ram Kumar Shrestha, said the department has now reached full capacity with the appointment of branch chiefs. He highlighted that the department achieved 90 percent progress in the last fiscal year and has set a target of 100 percent achievement in the current year.
The newly appointed Deputy Director Generals have been assigned the following responsibilities:
Eng. Ratna Lamichhane – Water Supply Division
Balmukunda Shrestha – Sewerage and Sanitation Management Division
Narayan Prasad Acharya – Service Regulation and Coordination Division
Director General Shrestha expressed confidence that with all leadership positions filled at the beginning of the fiscal year, the department will be able to accelerate its progress and deliver results more effectively.
