Everest English School Completes ‘Best from the Waste’ Exhibition
Bhaktapur, January 25, 2026.
With the message of putting the Nepali proverb "Value if you know how, waste if you don't" into practice, Everest English School, located in Mibachhen, Bhaktapur-2, organized a ‘Best from the Waste’ exhibition focused on creating useful items from unused materials.
Organized with the aim of highlighting students' inherent art, skills, and creative potential, the exhibition spread awareness about environmental protection, reuse, and the proper utilization of resources starting at the school level. Stakeholders commented that such programs are timely and necessary in the context of increasing waste production caused by a consumerist lifestyle.
The exhibition showcased creative reuses of discarded materials generally considered useless—such as paper, plastic, bottles, tin, cloth, wood, and wire—transformed into flower vases, bags, decorative items, toys, pen stands, model houses, eco-friendly materials, and artistic creations. Along with the items prepared through the joint efforts of students from preschool to the secondary level and their teachers, students also provided information regarding the concepts, materials used, and utility of their creations.
Inaugurating the exhibition, the school's Founding Principal, Mr. Bhakta Rajbhandari, stated that such activities help develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and independent thinking alongside academic knowledge. "Items considered waste today can become opportunities tomorrow," he noted.
According to the school, the objectives of the exhibition are to increase environmental awareness among students, develop a culture of maximizing the use of minimal resources, and convey a positive message to the community about the importance of waste management and reuse. Teachers mentioned that co-curricular activities provide opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in practice while boosting confidence and the spirit of collaboration.
Parents and visitors who came to observe the exhibition praised the school's initiative and expressed their view that such programs should be conducted regularly.
