Everest and Pashupati Shivaji Sign Agreement for Market-Oriented Education
July 16,
Everest Engineering College, a leading institution in higher engineering education in the country, and Pashupati Shivaji Construction Services, involved in dozens of construction projects, signed an agreement today to provide market-oriented education to undergraduate students.
Although thousands of civil engineers graduate in Nepal annually, many lack the basic skills required by construction companies. As a result, engineers struggle to find jobs while construction companies face difficulties in finding competent engineers.
To address this issue, Everest Engineering College and Pashupati Shivaji Construction Services have decided to collaborate and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today to promote market-oriented education.
According to the MoU, the college will gradually revise its curriculum to produce engineers with the skills needed by the construction industry in Nepal. The two parties will also collaborate to run non-credit courses, provide skill-based training, jointly supervise final-year projects, and introduce new elective subjects based on market demand.
On the same day, officials from Pashupati Shivaji Construction Services visited Everest Engineering College's laboratories, which are equipped with advanced tools certified by the Government of Nepal, as well as the college's newly built five-story modern building.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Harikrishna Shrestha, Principal of Everest Engineering College, and Engineer Sushil Kadariya on behalf of Pashupati Shivaji Construction Services.
Also present at the event were Mr. Arun Kumar Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of the college; Assistant Principal Engineer Rajan Lama; Department Heads Romharsha Oli and Mukunda Paudel; and Senior Architect Rojana Joshi from the construction service.
