"Ensuring Elections Despite Challenges": Finance Minister
Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has stated that despite numerous challenges and doubts, an environment has been created to hold the elections at the scheduled time.
Speaking at the Nepal Tourism Seminar organized by the Tourism Board and Parisuchak Media in Lalitpur on Friday, Minister Khanal said that although the government formed after the Gen-Z movement faced many challenges, including conducting the elections, it has listened to everyone's views with restraint and established an environment for the polls to take place on time.
He mentioned that because the government had to focus its entire attention on the elections, it was unable to give sufficient attention to various other sectors.
He also noted that although the budget mentioned providing the tourism sector with the same facilities as those received by industries, this has not yet been accomplished.
Stating that the current government was entrusted with the responsibility of reducing corruption and maintaining good governance, he expressed the view that several reform measures have been carried out in the meantime.
He informed that procedures and rules have been changed so that the upcoming government can take ownership of the reform works initiated by the current administration.
