Acting Chief Commissioner Announces Completion of Election Preparations

Kathmandu: Acting Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission, Ram Prasad Bhandari, has urged all voters to participate enthusiastically and actively in the election of the members of the House of Representatives. During a press conference held at the Commission on the eve of the election, he stated that all preparations for the election have been completed and requested voters to participate actively.

He said, "We would like to request all voters to participate enthusiastically and actively in the election of the members of the House of Representatives. All preparations for the election are complete. We want to urge voters to participate actively."

Similarly, the Election Commission stated that the candidacy of Kishori Sah, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate for Dhanusha-1, has been canceled because he did not provide accurate details. It was mentioned that the candidacy had to be canceled on the eve of the election because he concealed his actual status.

He added, "A complaint was lodged against him, after which we conducted inquiries with various agencies and found that he was blacklisted. The law does not allow such individuals to remain candidates. After investigating the complaint, we even gave him time to provide a clarification. He was unable to present evidence that he was not blacklisted."

Commissioner Bhandari called upon citizens to participate and cast their invaluable votes in the election, which is being held as a constitutional practice to renew democratic legitimacy.

Furthermore, the Commission stated that there is no possibility of ballot boxes being switched during transportation for the House of Representatives election. He clarified that ballot boxes will not be changed under any circumstances while being transported after voting is completed.

He said, "Many have asked if ballot boxes might be switched when transported by army helicopters. Ballot boxes will not be changed under any circumstances."

Election Results Within 24 Hours

Additionally, the Commission clarified that election results will be made public within 24 hours of the start of the vote counting. Bhandari stated that ballot boxes would be collected immediately after voting ends and counting would begin.

He said, "We will make the results public within 24 hours of receiving the ballot boxes and starting the count. At the same time, we will also release the proportional representation results soon."

The Commission, stating that all preparations for the election are complete, appealed to citizens to vote confidently. The Commission informed that ballot boxes from 61 polling stations in 15 different districts would be collected via helicopter.
