Durga Prasai Ready to Participate in Next Election
Kathmandu – Activist Durga Prasai, who has long been advocating for citizens’ rights and issues, has expressed his clear stance regarding the interim government and upcoming elections.
In a Facebook post, Prasai stated that his intention to join the interim government is not driven by personal gain, but to represent the interests of ordinary citizens, marginalized communities, people affected by microfinance institutions, banks, and cooperatives, as well as youths forced to go abroad for employment and other voiceless segments of society.
He emphasized that unless the newly formed interim government addresses and fulfills the demands to improve citizens’ living standards, he and his team will not participate in the government. Prasai also expressed his opposition to movements driven by foreign powers or external instructions, saying that sustainable change in Nepal is impossible under such influence. He condemned any attempt to use Nepal for conspiracies against neighboring countries.
Furthermore, he reiterated his long-standing demand that the current constitution should be annulled and Nepal should be re-declared a Sanatan Hindu nation. Prasai also shared that he is preparing for party registration and plans to participate in the upcoming elections with a clear agenda to win public trust and provide long-term solutions to the issues he has been advocating for years.
Prasai concluded by stating that he will continue to stay active on the streets, fulfilling the hopes and trust of the people, and contributing to steering the country towards stability, good governance, and prosperity.
