Dr. Nicholas Bhusal Arrested from Gorkha on Charges of Inciting Violence
Kathmandu. Police have arrested Dr. Nicholas Bhusal from Gorkha on the accusation of making statements that incite violence.
A special team deployed by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office took Bhusal into custody from the Saraswati Ashram in Ward No.-8 of Gorkha Municipality. Police are currently bringing him from Gorkha to Kathmandu.
Bhusal had made a controversial post on social media on Kartik 16 announcing plans to gherao (surround) the residences of former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and the then Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu, Chhabi Rajal.
Following his inflammatory statement on social media, a worker from the Tarun Dal (Nepali Congress youth wing) had publicly issued a warning of retaliation against Bhusal's group. Police subsequently acted on the statements that allegedly threatened public peace and social harmony.
