Lalitpur Metropolitan City Launches Digital Fine System
Kathmandu. Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan has announced the implementation of a digital fine system to make Municipal Police actions, including those against haphazard vehicle parking, more effective and service-oriented.
Speaking at the launch event of Lalitpur Metropolitan City's digital fine system on Monday, he informed that the system has been brought into operation starting today. He stated that the metropolis has been expanding technology-friendly services across various sectors.
Mentioning that innovative technologies like smart streetlights and intelligent traffic lights were first introduced in Lalitpur, he said they are now moving forward with the digital fine system.
"To make things convenient for service-seekers, the Municipal Police Chief collaborated with Deepak Malla of Tree Leaf Technology, and the product has been handed over.
It remains to be seen how well this system will perform," the Mayor said. Expressing that service-seekers previously faced inconvenience by being forced to visit the relevant office just to pay a fine, he stated that the digital fine system was introduced to resolve this issue.
