Deuba Faction Leaders Approach Supreme Court Against Election Commission's Decision

Leaders from the faction of outgoing President Sher Bahadur Deuba have approached the Supreme Court to protest the Election Commission's recognition of the working committee elected through a special general convention.

Following a conclusion reached at a meeting of the dissolved central committee held in Sanepa on Saturday, leaders led by outgoing Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka reached the Supreme Court today with a writ petition against the Election Commission's decision.

The Election Commission had granted official recognition to the working committee led by Gagan Thapa, which was elected from the special general convention.
