Here are the recent decisions of the Council of Ministers

Kathmandu. The government has decided to approve an agreement with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) regarding the implementation of the Montreal Protocol on the management and reduction of substances that deplete the ozone layer. 

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to move forward with this important agreement related to environmental protection and the safety of the ozone layer.

Similarly, the meeting decided to promote Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police Anjani Kumar Pokharel to the vacant post of Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the Armed Police Force, Nepal.

Likewise, it has been decided to extend the tenure of the study committee by 45 days. This committee was formed to study and make recommendations regarding the security mechanism mentioned in the report submitted by the commission investigating the incidents during the protests on September 8 and 09, 2025.

The meeting also decided to appoint Balabhadra Bastola (Kaski) as the chairperson of the Land Problem Resolution Committee. Furthermore, Amir Prasad Neupane (Kathmandu), Padma Niti Soti (Lamjung), and Dr. Rohana Shrestha (Kathmandu) have been appointed as members of the committee.
