Kathmandu DAO Refuses Protest Permission to 'Gen Z' Group
KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu has stated that it has not granted permission to the 'Gen Z' group for their planned protest.
Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu, Ishwar Raj Paudel, informed Nepal News Bank that although the Gen Z group submitted a letter requesting permission to protest, the request was denied.
"They have provided information and a formal application, stating they only intend to hold a small-scale demonstration," Paudel said. "We will manage the movement appropriately, but we have not granted any form of official permission for the protest."
The Gen Z group, which announced the movement on Sunday, had previously declared they would take to the streets regardless of whether they received permission. Their protest was scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on Monday at Maitighar.
