Department of Food Technology and Quality Control Orders Recall of Dabur Honey From Market
Kathmandu. The Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has issued an order to immediately recall 500-gram packs of 'Dabur Honey' produced by Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd. from the market. The food item was found to be sub-standard during laboratory testing under the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2081 BS, after the department collected samples of the honey during market monitoring and inspection.
The department issued the recall order on May 19, 2026 (2083/02/05 BS) after the honey, produced by Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd. located in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-23, Bara, with batch number AB 00477, production date 2025/12, and an expiration period of 18 months, was proven to be sub-standard.
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 38 of the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2024 (2081 BS), a strict directive has been issued to the concerned producing company under the instructor of the Director General to immediately recall all honey of the said batch number from the market, and not to sell or distribute the said product in accordance with sub-section (4) of the same section.
