CPN-UML Voting to Start at 7 PM; Leaders and Cadres to Spend the Night at Bhrikutimandap!

The voting time for the election of a new leadership during the ongoing 11th General Convention of the CPN-UML has been postponed several times, and it is now set to begin at 7:00 PM this evening. With voting confirmed to start no earlier than 7:00 PM, it is almost certain that the leaders and cadres will spend tonight at Bhrikutimandap.

Chief of the Election Commission, Bijay Subba, stated that even if the process starts quickly, voting will only commence between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and it will take another 3 to 4 hours to count the votes after the polling concludes.

He mentioned that preparations are underway to install one hundred machines for voting. "Data must be uploaded to all the machines; the devices are not connected via the internet. Therefore, it takes time to upload the data. Even if we start quickly, voting will only commence between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM," he said.

According to him, it would take 40 minutes for one person to cast their vote. There are 41 candidates for 19 office-bearer positions. Additionally, there are more than 600 candidates for 301 central committee member positions.
