Massive Gathering Expected in Janakpur for Congress Manifesto Launch

The Nepali Congress is set to release its manifesto in Janakpur today. Organized by the Nepali Congress Madhesh Province Committee, the document will be officially unveiled during a "Pledge Assembly" (Pratigya Sabha) being held in Janakpurdham.

Prominent central leaders, including Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa and Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, are scheduled to address the assembly. The party views this gathering in the historic and cultural city of Janakpurdham not merely as a political event, but as a landmark opportunity to promote Madhesh's self-respect, inclusive democracy, and national unity.

Congress leaders often emphasize that the soil of Madhesh has always stood firmly in favor of democracy, inclusivity, and the federal democratic republic. According to Krishna Prasad Yadav, President of the Nepali Congress Madhesh Province, the party has embraced identity, rights, proportional representation, and empowerment for the people of Madhesh as its core agenda in the political journey following the Madhesh movement.

In a statement issued by Yadav, it is noted: "President Gagan Kumar Thapa himself is directly connected with the people of Madhesh as a candidate from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4. This is not just an electoral strategy but a message to strengthen the relationship between Madhesh and national politics."

Yadav expressed the party's commitment to moving forward with a clear action plan to ensure prosperity in Madhesh, the modernization of agriculture, the expansion of industry and trade, the systematic development of border areas, youth employment, women's empowerment, and social justice.

He further informed that over 100,000 voters from all electoral constituencies of Madhesh Province are expected to participate in the assembly. Information regarding the manifesto released in Janakpur will also be shared in Kathmandu through a press conference. The party stated that Spokesperson Devraj Chalise will provide details about the manifesto at the Congress central office in Sanepa at 4:00 PM today.
