Second Special General Convention of Nepali Congress Starts Today

Kathmandu: The second Special General Convention of the Nepali Congress is starting today. The opening ceremony will take place at Bhrikutimandap at 1:00 PM. Before the ceremony, representatives will take out rallies from six different locations in Kathmandu.

According to the organizing committee, these rallies are being organized as a show of strength. The secretariat stated that the rallies will start from all routes at 11:00 AM. Once the rallies reach Bhrikutimandap, the formal opening program will begin.

After the opening ceremony, the closed session will also start today. The Special General Convention will continue until Monday. According to the management secretariat, rallies will head toward Bhrikutimandap from Kupondole in Lalitpur, and from Sundhara, Ratnapark, Padmakanya Campus, Shanker Dev Campus, and Kamalpokhari in Kathmandu.

The rally routes are as follows:

Route Number 1 Gathering Point: Sundhara Congress leaders and workers from Chitwan, Arghakhanchi, Nawalpur, and the Sudurpashchim districts will gather here. Leaders and workers from Kathmandu constituencies 8, 9, and 10 will also join. The rally will go from Sundhara through Bir Hospital, Ratnapark, and the Old Bus Park to enter Bhrikutimandap.

Route Number 2 Gathering Point: Ratnapark Leaders and workers from Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, and the northern parts of Kathmandu, as well as constituencies 5, 6, and 7, will participate in the Ratnapark rally. This rally will go through the Old Bus Park to reach the convention site.

Route Number 3 Gathering Point: Padmakanya Campus Leaders and workers from Banke, Bardiya, Dhanusha, Saptari, Siraha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, and Parsa will join this route. Leaders and workers from Kathmandu constituencies 5, 6, and 7 will also be part of this. The rally will go from Padmakanya Campus through Putalisadak, Shanker Dev Campus, and Padmodaya Mode to enter Bhrikutimandap.

Route Number 4 Gathering Point: Shanker Dev Campus Leaders and workers from Bhaktapur, Kavre, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, and Kathmandu constituencies 2 and 3 will join this rally. It will go from Shanker Dev Campus through Putalisadak and Padmodaya Mode to reach Bhrikutimandap.

Route Number 5 Gathering Point: Kamalpokhari Leaders and workers from Kathmandu constituencies 1 and 4 will gather at Kamalpokhari and enter Bhrikutimandap via Charkhal, Dillibazar, Putalisadak, and Shanker Dev Campus.

Route Number 6 Gathering Point: Kupondole Leaders and workers from Lalitpur and Makwanpur will participate in the rally starting from Kupondole. This rally will pass through Kupondole, Thapathali, Tripureshwor, Sundhara, Bir Hospital, Ratnapark, and the Old Bus Park to reach Bhrikutimandap.

A large number of Congress leaders and workers from across the country are gathering in Kathmandu for the Special General Convention. The organizing committee stated that all preparations are complete to hold the convention in a peaceful and organized manner.
