Nepali Congress Finalizes Candidates for National Assembly Elections

The Nepali Congress has finalized its candidates from various provinces for the National Assembly member elections scheduled for Magh 11. 

A meeting of the Central Working Performance Committee, chaired by Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka at the party's central office in B.P. Smriti Bhawan, Lalitpur, approved the nominations recommended by the Central Parliamentary Committee.

According to the party, these nominations were made in accordance with Section 18 of the National Assembly Member Election Act, 2075 B.S, and Article 32(9) of the Nepali Congress Constitution, 2017 (with amendments). 

The selected candidates include Sunil Bahadur Thapa from Koshi Province, Dharmendra Paswan and Ranjit Karna from Madhesh Province, Gita Devkota from Bagmati Province, and Jagat Timilsina from Gandaki Province. 

Additionally, Basudev Jangali and Chandra Bahadur K.C. have been nominated from Lumbini Province, Lalitjung Shahi from Karnali Province, and Khamma Bahadur Khati from Sudurpashchim Province.

During the meeting, several key leaders shared their views, including General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, Joint General Secretaries Farmullah Mansur and Mahendra Yadav, Central Members Vijay Kumar Gachhadar and Arjun Narsingh K.C., Party Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, and Lumbini Province President Amar Singh Pun. 

The Nepali Congress stated that the candidates were selected with a focus on inclusive representation, ensuring the inclusion of women, Dalits, and individuals from the disability or minority groups.
