Election Commission Implements Election Code of Conduct, 2025
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has implemented the Election Code of Conduct, 2025. The code of conduct has been put into effect starting from 12:00 AM today (Monday) for the National Assembly member elections scheduled for January 25 and the House of Representatives member elections scheduled for March 5.
The Commission stated that the Election Code of Conduct, 2025, has been approved and brought into implementation to conduct the elections in a clean, free, fair, transparent, and fearless environment. The code of conduct will apply to various agencies and individuals working within them until further notice is published by the Commission.
According to the Commission, the code of conduct will apply to the Government of Nepal and its ministers, provincial governments and their ministers, constitutional bodies and their officials, and agencies of the federal or provincial governments and their officials.
Additionally, the code of conduct will apply to local executives and their members, employees of federal, provincial, and local levels, security agencies, security personnel and staff, offices and employees of governmental, semi-governmental, and public institutions, and political parties and their sister organizations.
Similarly, the Commission stated that the code of conduct will apply to candidates and related individuals, election agents of political parties and candidates, polling agents and counting agents, persons holding public office, officials and monitors of monitoring committees, voters, development partner organizations, projects operated by governmental and semi-governmental agencies and their employees, and organizations conducting voter education programs and their employees.
