Govinda Bahadur Karki Appointed as Chief Secretary
The government has appointed Govinda Bahadur Karki to the post of Chief Secretary.
Spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel informed that a Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to appoint Karki, who was serving as a Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as the Chief Secretary.
He stated, "It has been decided to appoint Govinda Bahadur Karki, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, to the post of Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal."
According to him, the meeting also approved the Educational Counseling, Language Teaching, and Preparation Classes (Operation and Management) Regulations, 2026 (2083 BS).
Decisions of the Cabinet Meeting:

To appoint Mr. Suraj Shakya of Kathmandu to the post of Development Commissioner of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority.

To grant approval to operate Geta Hospital, Kailali, as the teaching hospital of the Shahid Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences.

To approve the Foreign Educational Programs (Operation and Regulation) Regulations, 2026 (2083 BS).

To approve the Educational Counseling, Language Teaching, and Preparation Classes (Operation and Management) Regulations, 2026 (2083 BS).
