Minister Madhav Prasad Chaulagain Assumes Office as Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport
Kathmandu, Jan 9: Minister for Forests and Environment Madhav Prasad Chaulagain has assumed the office of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport. On the occasion, he signed a decision to request the Asian Development Bank to include the Karnali Highway in upcoming pipeline projects for road safety and upgrading.
Additionally, he decided to relocate the Bailey bridge currently located at the Hima River in Nagma, on the border of Jumla and Kalikot—where a concrete bridge has already been constructed—to the Tila River at Tatopani Rural Municipality-5 in Jumla district to connect with Haku in Tatopani Rural Municipality-4.
Minister Chaulagain also signed a decision to form a five-member committee, coordinated by the Ministry's Joint Secretary Sushil Babu Dhakal, to provide necessary recommendations for revising the qualification criteria for 'D' class construction entrepreneurs as stipulated in Schedule 13 of the Construction Entrepreneurs Regulation, 2056 B.S.
Following the resignation of the then Physical Infrastructure Minister Kulman Ghising on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sushila Karki had assigned the responsibility of the ministry to Forest Minister Chaulagain.
