Celebration in Balen's Ancestral Village as He Prepares to Take Oath as Prime Minister

Janakpur: A celebration is set to take place today, Friday, in Ekdara, the ancestral village of Balendra Shah (Balen), parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), located in Mahottari. As Balen is scheduled to take the oath of office as Prime Minister today, the villagers have made preparations to mark the occasion with joy. For the past two days, residents of Ekdara Rural Municipality have been organizing a grand celebration for this day.

While some have prepared various sweets, others have arranged for firecrackers and fireworks. The entire community of Ekdara is elated by the news of Balen becoming the Prime Minister. Everyone, from children to the elderly, is filled with happiness. According to local resident Sushila Devi, they plan to play with colorful powders (Abir) in the village today and light lamps in every house and courtyard in the evening.

Another local, Arun Kumar Shah, mentioned that Balen’s past work has already brought national recognition to Ekdara. He noted that while Balen himself has not yet done specific work for the village, his father and grandfather contributed significantly to its development. Shah expressed confidence that since Balen has promised to visit the village, he will certainly initiate development projects for Ekdara.

Locals describe today as a day of immense pride for the village. Since Ekdara serves as a major alternative route from the district headquarters Jaleshwar to Bardibas, residents shared that they plan to distribute laddoos to those traveling through the area today.

They have also announced plans to illuminate the entire village with lamps. Balen is set to take the oath of office and assume his duties as Prime Minister today. In the recently held House of Representatives elections, Balen secured victory in Jhapa by defeating CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli in his own constituency.
