Dr. Baburam Bhattarai's Remarks on the Budhigandaki Project

Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has stated that it is positive that the RSP government has taken the initiative to move forward with the Budhigandaki National Pride Project after a long period of confusion. 

Describing this as an opportunity to correct past mistakes, he mentioned that this project is not just a means of producing 1200 megawatts of electricity but a center for the country's multi-dimensional economic transformation. 

He believes that this project, located between major cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Bharatpur, will help make a leap in the industrial economy. Urging the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, and Energy Minister leading the government to understand its importance, he suggested that the work should proceed through a separate, fully authorized 'Budhigandaki Watershed Development Authority' rather than a general company under the Nepal Electricity Authority. 

He emphasized the need to treat it as a specific transformative project, warning that the project could otherwise be left in limbo once again.
