Bhandari Urges Gagan Thapa to Lead Reform Instead of Stepping Down
Kathmandu: Nepali Congress leader Chandra Bhandari has stated that the time has come to fulfill responsibilities rather than resign. On Tuesday, through social media, Bhandari suggested to Party President Gagan Thapa that instead of resigning, moving quickly toward a convention is the most appropriate, responsible, and timely path.
He wrote, "This is not the time to resign, but the time to fulfill responsibilities. Therefore, rather than Gagan Kumar Thapa resigning in the name of morality, moving quickly toward a convention is the more appropriate, responsible, and timely route."
Bhandari mentioned that true leadership involves protecting the organization by finding a cure rather than running away from problems. He said, "True leadership's duty is not to run away after seeing a problem, but to save the organization by treating it."
He argued that saving the Congress in this situation is a moral obligation in itself, noting that at a time when youth are leaving the party, the Congress needs to be revitalized.
He mentioned that one should not leave the party at such a time. "Morality has mostly died in Nepali politics; therefore, we must now plant new thoughts, new leadership, and new seeds," he wrote.
