Meeting Between Home Minister Aryal and UN Resident Coordinator
Kathmandu: A courtesy meeting was held at the Ministry of Home Affairs between Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and the newly appointed United Nations Resident Coordinator for Nepal, Lila Peters Yahia.
During the meeting, Minister Aryal expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the United Nations to Nepal in areas such as governance reform, climate change, and capacity building of local levels. He also expressed confidence that the collaboration with the United Nations would further strengthen in the coming days.
United Nations Resident Coordinator Peters Yahia stated that the partnership with the Government of Nepal would continue and expressed interest in expanding further support and cooperation in areas including drug control, border security, and human trafficking in Nepal.
During the courtesy call, Home Minister Aryal mentioned that the government is working intensively to institutionalize democracy by maintaining peace and security to conduct the House of Representatives election on March 5 in a fearless and impartial environment.
