Home Minister Omprakash Aryal Pledges to Prevent Crime
Home Minister Omprakash Aryal has stated that the current government is committed to preventing all types of crime. Addressing the opening session of the Madhesh Province-level security seminar organized in Janakpurdham on Wednesday, Home Minister Aryal said that the government is determined to prevent crime and, in the event it occurs, to bring the perpetrators within the legal framework.
Home Minister Aryal informed that the government has taken action in the past against those who speak in a manner that disrupts religious harmony, incites violence, or creates political violence under the guise of freedom of expression, and remains committed to bringing such individuals to justice in the future as well.
He stated that he has instructed Chief District Officers and heads of security agencies to pay more attention to crime control. Home Minister Aryal shared that Chief District Officers have been directed to take control of the situation as soon as early signs are received, before conflict and violence can erupt, and success has been achieved accordingly. He mentioned that the government is very active in the prevention phase.
Home Minister Aryal expressed his happiness, noting that Madhesh Province has appeared leading in terms of how to practice federalism effectively. He stated that other provinces would also adopt the guidance provided by the role Madhesh Province has played in the implementation of federalism. Home Minister Aryal informed that the central government will also promote the roles and initiatives of Madhesh Province.
Home Minister Aryal said that the control of looted weapons and escaped prisoners is under a special operation of the government. He stated that most of the weapons and prisoners have already been captured, and efforts are underway to bring the remaining ones under control. He informed that work is being done in some districts to catch weapons and prisoners by adopting special techniques.
Home Minister Aryal informed that coordination is being made with the Indian government to manage police logistics and equipment before the elections. He shared that the procurement process for items including vehicles and non-lethal weapons has already begun.
Home Minister Aryal expressed the view that the people living in the border areas are the true border guards. He said the government's policy is not to promote any behavior that creates bitterness between the state and the people living in border areas. He mentioned that the government will protect the sovereignty of this nation by working together with the people of the border areas.
Home Minister Aryal stated that special initiatives are being taken for drug control and maintaining religious harmony. He said the government is committed to protecting original religion and culture as it is the government's responsibility. Home Minister Aryal informed that no concessions will be given to those who engage in violence or anti-national activities under a religious cloak.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Krishna Yadav, complained that the provincial government is facing problems in moving forward with its work because police adjustment has not taken place. He urged the central government through Home Minister Aryal to advance the process of police adjustment and staff transfer.
In the meeting, the Minister for Home Communication and Law of Madhesh Province, Fakira Mahato, informed Home Minister Aryal about the incidents of drug trafficking and crime occurring in the border areas.
