House of Representatives Passes Anti-Money Laundering (Third Amendment) Bill, 2026 by Majority

The House of Representatives has passed the Anti-Money Laundering (Third Amendment) Bill, 2026 (2083 BS) by a majority vote.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Thursday, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle presented the proposal to pass the bill. Following this, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal presented the proposal for decision, leading to the bill being passed by a majority.

Participating in the discussion before the bill's passage, some opposition lawmakers expressed the view that the bill should be sent to a parliamentary committee for further study and detailed discussion. However, despite their suggestions, the House of Representatives passed the bill on the basis of a majority vote.
